WWE Summer Slam 2025 Night 1 Results

WWE kicked off its first-ever two-night SummerSlam with a stacked Night 1 at MetLife Stadium, bringing title changes, shocking betrayals, celebrity cameos, and more in front of 53,000+ fans.

💥 Main Event Mayhem

CM Punk defeated Gunther in a brutal match to win the World Heavyweight Championship, ending Gunther’s dominant reign.

But the joy didn’t last. Seth Rollins faked a knee injury all night, then cashed in Money in the Bank seconds after Punk's win.  One Curb Stomp later, Rollins reclaimed the title, stunning fans and igniting online buzz.

Becky Lynch added fuel to the fire with a post-show troll: “Y’all believed him? 😂”


🩷 Women’s Division Takes Over

Tiffany Stratton retained her Women’s Title against Jade Cargill in a power vs. finesse showcase. That’s now eight successful defenses for Stratton.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss defeated Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez to win the Women’s Tag Team Championships, blending veteran strategy with crowd pop.


🤼 Tag Action & Celebrity Involvement

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso opened the main show by defeating Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, putting The Bloodline back on track.

Randy Orton returned to tag action with country star Jelly Roll, who made his in-ring debut. Despite a valiant effort, Logan Paul scored the win for his team with Drew McIntyre.

The match gave Jelly Roll a chance to shine and kept Logan Paul’s momentum rolling with a clean pin.


🧨 Sami Zayn Wins Personal Feud

Sami Zayn defeated Karrion Kross in a passionate battle, refusing to use a lead pipe handed to him by Scarlett Bordeaux. Instead, he hit the Helluva Kick for a clean win.

This capped a months-long feud and gave Zayn a hard-fought moral victory.


🎤 Star Power All Around

Cardi B served as event host, interacting with fans and wrestlers throughout the night.

Breland opened the main show with a strong rendition of “God Bless America,” adding star power and heart to the event.





Night 1 delivered everything a SummerSlam should: big matches, celebrity energy, surprise twists, and jaw-dropping finales. Night 2 has a lot to live up to.
