Created by author J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan is a story everyone knows and some maybe too well. The boy who didn’t grow up. The story has been told various ways and our favorite is the 1953 animated Disney classic. Peter Pan flies home on Digital and on Movie Anywhere May 29 and on Bluray on June 5th.
Synopsis:
In this Disney animated film, Wendy (Kathryn Beaumont) and her two brothers are amazed when a magical boy named Peter Pan (Bobby Driscoll) flies into their bedroom, supposedly in pursuit of his rebellious shadow. He and his fairy friend, Tinkerbell, come from a far-off place called Neverland, where children stay perpetually young. Enchanted, the kids follow him back. But when Pan’s nemesis, the pirate Captain Hook (Hans Conried), causes trouble, the kids begin to miss their old life.
“Peter Pan” is the seventh title to join the Walt Disney Signature Collection, which includes groundbreaking films created or inspired by the imagination and legacy of Walt Disney, featuring timeless stories and characters that have touched generations. The film takes its place alongside “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pinocchio,” “Bambi,” “The Lion King” and “Lady and the Tramp.”
From the rich colors, to the music to the actors that brought all these amazing characters to life. This film continues to inspire and find new fans of this beloved classic. At 65 years from its original release this film also doesn’t to grow up and fans are happy it doesn’t. The amazing this is that both the audio and video quality are not only superb, they can easily compete against anything released today. This is one of the amazing gems from Disney, this is a a true classic whether you are a kid or young at heart. What really makes this so special are all the amazing special features. The look inside Walt’s office is one of my favorites. The look at the creation of Tinkerbell and the making of Peter Pan is just amazing. This is one that belongs in your collection.
