We have said it before and we will gladly say it again. It is a great time to be a comic/superhero fan. In the past 10 years fans have been able to enjoy the adventures of their favorite superheroes. Marvel has created some on the most impressive and diverse characters not only in the comic book world but in the entertainment world.

Last year, The Gifted premiered on FOX and has held the traditions and standards fans of come to expect and on Tuesday, September 25th the first season will be available on DVD.

20th Century Fox provided me with a free copy of the DVD reviewed in this post. The opinions I share are my own.

The Gifted tells the emotional story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family seeks help from an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
Set within the “X-Men” universe, the series stars, Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Amy Acker (Suits), Natalie Alyn Lind (The Goldbergs) and Percy Hynes White (Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb) as the Strucker family. Also featured in the series are Sean Teale (Voltron) as Eclipse/Marcos Diaz; Jamie Chung (Gotham) as Blink/Clarice Fong; Emma Dumont (Pretty Little Liars) as Polaris/ Lorna Dane; Blair Redford (CSI) as Thunderbird/John Proudstar; and Coby Bell (The Game) as Sentinel Services Agent Jace Turner.

This cast is so much fun to watch and identify with.  They keep you rooting till the end and you find yourself invested in their story.  That is something not found often.  It is nice seeing an X-universe on the small screen and the special effects do this show justice.  If you haven’t seen or gotten caught up now is the time with season 2 coming soon.  Be sure to pick up your copy of The Gifted Season 1 on DVD on Tuesday, September 25th.
