Releasing Tuesday, September 4th, SUPERNATURAL: THE COMPLETE THIRTEENTH SEASON on Blu-ray Combo, DVD & Digital HD.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Bluray Combo I reviewed in this Post.  The opinions I share  are my own.

Supernatural has spawned several novels, magazines, comics, games and an anime series and stars Jared Padalecki (Friday the 13th, Gilmore Girls) and Jensen Ackles (Smallville, My Bloody Valentine) as Sam and Dean Winchester, with Misha Collins (24; Girl Interrupted) as Castiel. Season Thirteen also stars Mark Pellegrino (Lost, Dexter, Capote) as Lucifer and Alexander Calvert (Arrow, The Edge of Seventeen) as his son, Jack. Created by Eric Kripke (Revolution, Timeless), the thirteenth season of the hit series was executive produced by Andrew Dabb, Robert Singer (Timecop, Lois & Clark), Phil Sgriccia (Smallville), Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (Lois & Clark) and Jeremy Carver (Frequency, Being Human). Produced by Kripke Enterprises, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television, Supernatural returns for its fourteenth season this fall on The CW.

Here is the official synopsis:

Last season, the Winchesters were reunited with their resurrected mother, Mary, who joined forces with the British Men of Letters. But things turned from bad to worse, with the return of Lucifer and the surprising revelation that the Devil was expecting a child with a human mother. In Season Thirteen, Sam and Dean find themselves facing Lucifer’s offspring, a creature of almost unimaginable power – one that could save the world… or destroy it.

It wasn’t that long ago that there was hardly any shows dealing with supernatural forces.  You could easily count them on one hand.  Now it seems they are everywhere and they cater to just about everyone’s taste.  A lot of the credit for helping build this genre goes to the extremely talented cast and crew of Supernatural.  It’s hard to believe that viewers have been keeping up with the Winchesters for 13 seasons with no signs of age or slowing down. Angels, demons and mankind at war on earth and in other dimensions.

This show finds way to continue to reinvent itself without growing stale.  If we had to narrow down this season to one word it would be: family.  From the search for Mary to Lucifer’s daddy issues.

Lucky 13th season also had arguably the most ambitious episode ever, the cross-over between Supernatural and Scooby-Doo.

This was our favorite episode this past season.  For a show not known for cross-overs this just worked and kept with the tone of the series while staying true to the Scooby series.  The other dimension brought back several favorites the series has lost over the years.   This season saw the return of a few favorites which is yet another reason to own this set.

The story of Jack and where he fits in and what his destiny truly is was a great roller coaster this season.   Once again Supernatural surpassed ALL expectations.

The Bluray special features are great from the bloopers to Kansas preforming at SDCC during the Supernatural panel.   Supernatural: The Complete Thirteenth Season bonus includes Mystery Mash-Up: The Making of Scoobynatural and is a great look at a fun episode.  Be sure to preorder your copy today.

Supernatural: The Complete Thirteenth Season will be available on Blu-ray Combo, DVD & Digital HD, Tuesday, September 4th.
