After a successful first season, iZombie is back for my fun and excitement in season 2.  CW has been really lining up their DC comic property arsenal between Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Legends of  and iZombie.  The best part is the fans are the real winners.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

The key to this show being so intriguing and fun to watch are the wonderfully written characters and stories.  There is something for everyone to enjoy without the fear of a gorefest.  This is a show that is easy to get addicted to and with the Season 2 release, there is no reason not to binge watch.  We find ourselves re-watching not only the first but the first and second season as we work.   The second season picks up a few months after the first season finale as Liv is trying to repair damaged relationships with family and friends.

The overall theme to the second season is the search for the cure.  There are various story arcs throughout season 2 and it ties into the bigger picture.  With Liv’s (Rose McIver) ability to evolve each episode depending on the brain of the day, season 2 is filled with some great personalities.  Some of our favorite episodes are Even Cowgirls Get the Black and Blues, Abra Cadaver, Cape Town and the fantastic two-part season finale, Dead Beat/Salivation Army.  Fans will also learn more about Blaine’s (David Anders) dysfunctional upbringing with guest star Robert Knepper as Angus DeBeers.

Let’s chat about special features.  There are eleven different deleted scenes and our personal favorite, iZombie:2015 Comic-Con Panel.  We love going and covering SDCC but having the ability to actually watch the panel after it is professionally shot is a great addition to this box set.  The only thing we wish was included are a gag reel and maybe a walkthrough of the set with the series stars.  Other than that, this is a great set.  While this won’t have you craving brains, it will have you craving more.  iZombie Season 2 is available NOW on Bluray, DVD and Digital HD.
