The 100 Season 1 Bluray review

Warner Bros. Home Video will release The 100 Season 1 on Tuesday, September 23rd.  This release will be available on Bluray and Digital HD.

Ninety-seven years after nuclear Armageddon destroyed our planet, humanity’s sole survivors live on the Ark, an aging space station experiencing overpopulation and inadequate resources. When faced with difficult choices, the Ark leaders—chief medical officer Abby, Chancellor Jaha and the mysterious Kane—decide to send 100 juvenile prisoners back to Earth to test its living conditions. Among them are Clarke, Abby’s bright daughter; Wells, Jaha’s son; the daredevil Finn; and siblings Bellamy and Octavia. With the survival of all in their inexperienced hands, The 100 young people must learn to rise above their differences and forge a new path on a wild and dangerous landscape that teems with radioactive waste, turbulent weather and unimaginable predators…or face the ultimate extinction of the human race!

We were skeptical when we heard about The 100.  It is often hard to bring a futuristic storyline to the small screen and do it justice.  Our concerns were put to rest early.  This is a very young and dynamic cast with a lot of promise.  We found it easy to enjoy The 100 and think you will to.  There are stories within stories and it is woven together nicely.  Between the teenagers on the planet and the adults back on The Ark, there is a lot to cover.  This show had elements that reminded me of Battlestar Galactica (2004 version), LOST and they take the time to help develop their characters.  This is a show that is worth watching over and over and catching things you may have missed the first time around.
